thread sealer on exhaust

any suggestions or insight on a sealer to be used on the threads of a reducer i am using on a bung in an exhaust system?

I have used red silicone auto gasket maker on some exhaust flange gaskets, primarily to hold them in place while assembling. Years later the seal still appeared good when it was dis assembled. It works also pretty good as a thread lock.

I use an anti-seize compound that is compatible with stainless steel (if that is what your exhaust system is made of).
