will RV 7 or 8 elevators fit on an RV6?

A few months ago we put a RV7 Horizontal and elevators on a RV6.
Maybe.
The RV-6 was NOT pre-punched and it is possible that the elevator hinge brackets are slightly different. This could create preload on the elevator bearings causing premature bearing failure.

We had to shim the front of the new horizontal, so that the trim worked satisfactorily.

The 6 HSTAB hinge points can be way off. I recently built up a new HSTAB for a project, and the hinges had to move substantially to align to the existing elevator.
the entire HSTAB and elevator kit is available from Vans. Then everything will be new, pre-punched, and will line up.
Big challenge is to match drill the HSTAB to the existing fuselage mount holes without creating a buggered mess.
