Spar defect?

I sent this same question into Van’s but wanted to see if someone here knows the answer while I wait for a response. One of my spars has a very noticeable black bar going along the grain of the aluminum. Is this normal or is this a defect?

I believe that's just roller marks from the original fabrication process of the aluminum bar stock. If it's not gouged into the metal, I wouldn't worry.

Thanks. I heard back from Van’s and they said the same thing. Just got a bit worried there because that’s probably the most important part of the plane.
