18V Solid Rivet Gun

Seems like Ryobi, Milwaukee, or some other 18v company would have made a rivet banger by now.

Anyone know of an electric option?

There are distinctions made between air hammers and rivet guns... so an electric hammer might not do what you want. Somebody more knowledgeable can take it from here...

When doing repetitive work like drilling or riveting, light weight tools is the key.
Even a light weight hose helps.
I would not want to use a tool any heavier than what we already use.
I think some people may be using battery drills but air drills are much lighter.

Volume...

The reason they have not made one is due to the low volume expectations. They want to sell high volumes to the "happy home Owner", contractors and small businesses. Just not enough demand for them to do the engineering, manufacturing tooling and labor.

Not many of the "trades" use solid rivets. Whereas, a pulled rivet is used across a variety of industries that allows for enough volume and demand to justify the costs.

Air hammers are essentially designed to be on or off, while rivet guns are feathered anywhere from a single hit to continuous hits. Some of the better hammers out there have feathering triggers, but they are not necessarily consistent in the way that they operate.

BTW, if you shoot a lot of solid rivets, a heavier gun and bar are often better ergonomically due to lower recoil to the hands and wrists. We used to shoot some solid Monel rivets with a 9X and a 25 pound bar. Bucker had to hold bar overhead, while the shooter had the gun at knee height pointing down.
