Geared starters lubrication

I have a Continental 0-200 with a TCM gear reduction starter.
If you are familiar with these starters, how are the reduction gears lubricated?
My starter is leaking oil from a weep hole on the lower housing of the starter.
Removing the starter I found a lot of engine oil in the starter.
My question is, does a certain amount of oil feed from the accessory case into the starter for lubrication?
Or do the gears have any kind of grease in the housing? All I see for a seal is a o-ring on the pinion shaft, and it appears to be in good shape. The bearings on the pinion shaft also appear to be in good shape.
I would like to repair this starter and keep it for a spare as I have replaced it due to the oil leak.
Thanks
Dave
