What can be done to keep paint out of flap piano hinge when painting wing.

Insert hinge pin lightly oiled. Paint and let dry. Remove pin and paint will flake off pin as it slides out.

Hinge

Get some more hinge and install a piece with a pin ( no oil / fish eye issues )
It keeps paint off the sides of the eyelets , use the same piece over for the flaps .

Any paint release agent will also get on the hinge. Paint with no agent. Remove pin. Scotchbright the pin by hand. Done.

I didn't mask those and it didn't cause a problem. It is pretty hard to get much paint in holes that small.
