Just wanted to toss out some information on a 'not so new' fitting we have for teflon hose. -2, yes -2. Some of you with enignes that came from other aircraft have some oil pressure hose fittings that are -2, as well as some primer line conversions. Normally a -2 hose end is for H5593 hose, or more commonly Aeroquip 306, or Stratoflex 193. Its only in a reusable style, and pretty fragile.
Steve and I have been making a -2 hose end for our teflon hose for several years now, mainly for primer systems, but lately for older planes where clients have wanted to update their FWF hoses. WE make it from 304 stainless, like our other hose ends, with a certifed AN-2 nut. Its a crimp on version, like our other hose ends, and we think its pretty unique in the experimental aviation industry. As an assembly, its rated working pressure is 3000 psi, like our other small bore teflon hoses, and can be firesleeved.
So for you owners that have -2 primer systems, or oil/fuel pressure hoses, we can upgrade you to teflon. OH---and I may have mentioned this in the past, but for -3 and -4 sizes, we have Red and Blue PVC covered teflon. Same working pressures as our standard teflon, just in color. Pics show this hose in a Beringer conversion, and our standard injector hoses for our SDS packages. For brakes, some of you stated you couldnt see them anyway, but when you can, they sure do look great. LOL---we even did a FWF package for a RV7 client several years ago that the OP, FP, and MAP hoses were all different colors.
So---just letting you know that aircraft plumbing doesnt have to be dull!
