Wingtips?

Has anyone tried putting some type of winglet or wingtip on the wing for reduced drag? I'm talking about the ones that slope up. If you have what are the results? Supposedly they are supposed to reduce induced drag.

thought i'd throw this in here rather than start another thread:

what is a harmon rocket?

is it an rv 3 with harmon wings?

FWIW-- at the bakersfield muni fly-in yesterday-- a guy had a six A with NO WINGTIPS.

he had yellow plates larger than the shape of the wing itself.

IIRC-- he implied that the plane was slower and that he accomplished his goal of NOT bumping into wing tips all the time.
