Hey Paul,

What is the blinking red light next to the pilots left knee? The pilot asked me at engine start and I didn't know what to tell him. There was no brief on this item.

That's our sophisticated electrical system monitor. Nothing but a voltage monitor light - it is out when the system is off, or you have good charging voltage. Steady on means the alternator is doing SOMETHING, but it is not at full charging voltage, and blinking means that you are on battery voltage. Since the alternator is an SD-8, it doesn't put out enough at lower RPM's to charge - so it's pretty much always blinking on the ground.

When we started the restoration, that hole in the panel had a switch installed - but it wasn't connected to anything - so Walt decided to put the light there.
