Montgomery High School (TX) Announces 3 New Private Pilots

Students in the PLTW Aerospace Engineering class at Montgomery high school (TX) are currently building the school's 3rd Eagle's Nest Projects Van's RV-12; their 2nd iS model. The classroom curriculum is taught by Jennifer Duffer, the most exciting and motivating teacher you'll ever have the opportunity to meet. The airplane build class is supervised under the watchful eye of Joe Waltz, Program Director, and his extremely talented team of mentors from Conroe EAA Chapter 302. Working in perfect harmony, Jennifer, Joe, and the outstanding team of mentors provide a hands-on airplane build experience to 50-60 Aerospace Engineering students each year... and in their spare time :) they also manage to host group activities for parents and family members.

When teaching high school students, or teenagers in general for that matter, the rewards for the effort often come when you least expect it and is well exampled in this announcement of three Private Pilots! Mateo is a senior at Montgomery, Chris is focused on OU, and Trey just arrived at Rice University. Culminating in less than a 30 day period, separately and each on their own, these outstanding aerospace engineering students earned their Private Pilot License! Congratulations Mateo, Chris, and Trey on your accomplishment and super kudos to Jennifer, Joe, and the mentor team for your hard work, dedication, and the quality time you freely give inspiring and empowering our youth!

Yowza!

Wow!! Congratulations! Great program, and the students, ahem PILOTS, are on a great track for success. I sure wish my high school had such an awesome program, back in the day.

That's awesome! Joe is a great guy and has helped us out with our own build quite a bit. Nice to know that our local HS has such a great Eagle's Nest program :)
