Van's has published Service Letter SL-00030, which covers the optional installation of Grove wheels and brakes on finished/flying aircraft. Note that this new "premium" wheel and brake system is also available as an option on the RV-12 order forms.
We have made two kits available for people with completed aircraft - one for airplanes with wheel pants installed, and one for aircraft without wheel pants. These kits are applicable to both the RV-12 and the RV-12iS, as is described in the service letter document.
Braking action with this wheel/brake system is equivalent to or slightly more effective than the standard wheels/brakes. Projected durability/longevity of the brake components is greater, and this system is commonly used for flight schools. It has also been a premium option on factory-build SLSA RV-12iS aircraft for the past several months.
