Question about elevator tim cable

I'm working on the trim cable / servo assembly. Can anyone tell me the best way to get the jam nuts over the rubber boot, and similarly to thread the cable assembly into the anchor point on the elevator? Boot wants to bunch up / block movement when I try to remove jam nut....

I removed the boots before taking off the nuts or installing the cable into the retainer. You can take the little boot off the end and then the larger one.

Thanks - wasn't sure that was "allowed"!

Edit - it was ridiculously easy as are most things I worry about. Just slid the boot off the end cap and nut/washer came right off.
