I was flying yesterday and noticed that I couldn?t ?see? the METAR for a nearby airport on my FIS-B only G3X Touch (GDU 460), but I could on my SiriusXM G3X (GDU 465).
After a little digging, we discovered that the ASOS at the airport in question wasn?t reporting it?s Lat/Lon information to the METAR aggregator, and thus FIS-B couldn?t find the station.
A little more digging revealed the following 56 ASOS/AWOS stations do not report Lat/Lon. So, if you?ve been missing a METAR from FIS-B weather, this could be your issue.
