va-112 fuel drain flange countersink

Looking at my VA-112 fuel drain flange it looks like the countersinks were drilled too deep at the factory. Plans call for 426 3-4 rivet and the head of the rivet is not flush with the flange but sits deep in the hole as if it was countersunk for dimpled skin instead of the head of the rivet. Is this by design or were my flanges drilled to deep?

I thought the same thing but it seemed to work fine after sealant and riveting. It just has to hold fuel; it isn?t structural.

This did not cause any issues with my tanks at all
Its worth remembering to leave a path way for water to get around the shop head when you cover it with pro seal !

I have replaced several drains in other RV tanks and usually see that builders have a ring of sealer over the rivet heads
That's great if you want to hold water and **** in your tanks .... not me sir

Use pieces of fine line tape then pull off once you have done with the pro seal
For the eagle eyed this is tank for a 7 i built recently... same deal though
