Disconnect heating scat in summer???

My system in the 9A leaks a bit of heat in summer. Don't need that in Arizona in August. Would I do any harm just leaving the scat tubing off that runs from NACA side inlet, to the heat muff? I think the flow would just speed up the air exiting the lower cowl opening. Am I missing something else to consider?

The heat muff with no airflow will ‘insulate’ the exhaust pipe a bit, maybe shortening its life. That’s why when the heat is off the airflow is not blocked, but dumped overboard.

as Bob mentioned, not a good idea. Better to take the scat off the heater door on the F/W and mount it by the cowl exit.

Had not thought of the heat build up under the muff....
Better to take the tube off AFTER.\ the muff.
Thanks guys!
