wing to fuse rubber seal

six years ago I landed in Barstow CA after departing Victorville to try to understand what the heck was that banging noise on the side of my aircraft. after walking around the aircraft several times I couldn't find anything amiss since the wing to fuse rubber seal had laid back down in it's place but was loose on the trailing edge by about a foot. happy to have found something, I stuck it back in it's groove and carried on. after arriving home in Cincy I put some glue on the trailing edge for insurance and that was it until six years later. about a month ago I heard a similar noise but not as loud so I took a look at the seals again sure enough it had a slight pucker in the middle. I was able to solve that but pulling the rubber 1/4 inch tighter and regluing at the aft trailing edge. strange that the rubber stretched rather than shrank over the past six years. it was a quick fix.
