Alternator B lead

Not from the alternator, to the alternator.

The B-lead connects the battery to the alternator. The goal is to isolate the battery from a shorted B lead.

But Dan, doesn't the current flow through the fuse flow FROM the alternator TO the battery? If the alternator fails, current could flow FROM the battery TO the alternator... So maybe the proper terminology is that the fuse goes BETWEEN the battery and the alternator...

The fuse should be located at the battery end of the B
lead to protect the battery and B lead from short circuits.
An alternator can not produce much more than its rated output.
An alternator is self current limiting.
