Garmin G3X Kavilco sensor reliability

After 4 years and around 400hrs had the Kavilco manifold pressure sensor fail a couple days ago. No weird behavior preceding the failure, just indicated 0" manifold pressure when I fired the plane up, quick check to see if I was in outer space (you never know these days) and I figured the sensor failed. I have my fuel/oil/manifold pressure all firewall mounted in the little 3x3 Vans manifold, so no vibration induced failure I would think. Garmin 494-30004-01 / Kavilco P4055-30A-E4A.

Anyone else had these Kavilco sensors go bad?

Hey Fitz,

I had a Kavilco fuel pressure sensor go bad that worked with the AFS 5600 that I had in my RV-8. When I called AFS, they didn't seem surprised. The good news is that it was easy to replace.

The -7 is working out great! We are still getting to know each other.

Thanks, again!

Had a Kavlico oil pressure sensor on my 2003 Silverado start reading substantially off-- although I can't remember if it was high or low. It had about 60k miles and 10 years on it at the time.
