Engine Diagnosis/Repair - Help Needed(Pay)

My cylinder #3 is showing 56/80(Drop from 72/80) compression and I have been getting high chrome(chrome cylinders) in oil analysis 240PPM for a year now. I'm looking for someone(will pay for time) who can help me pull the cylinders and maybe do a top overhaul if the bottom looks ok on inspection. I'd be happy if someone allows me to borrow the cylinder wrenches. I'm based out of Hicks Airfield.

Hi Rajiv,

I?m based out of Hicks as well (Hangar 707).

A&P-IA Shawn Scott helped fellow Hicksonian Mike Heberling last year pull a cylinder with a bad exhaust valve. Sounds like this job would be up his alley too.

He?s great about owner-assisted annuals as well...makes it a real learning experience.

PM me thru this website and I will send over his contact info.

Thank you Rob, I was able to get hold of Joe Sloat today from Hicks. He guided me to remove everything except the cylinder bolts and we are going to pull all cylinders together tomorrow.
