Tank sealant CS3204

Vans store is out of stock of the tank sealant and I'd like to keep moving on with my rudder.

Anyone work with this stuff? Should it be a viable alternative?

I used the scotch tape they recommended and it worked just fine. Just a thought if you want to press on.

Where is this tape method you speak of? Don't see it in the vans drawings.

That stuff will work just fine. Only downside is it all gets mixed at once so it all has to be used right away.

Or you can put it into two separate containers and mix what you want when you want it, like I did.

It's mentioned in the current Section 5 revision. It's VHB tape not Scotch though!

If you buy it, get it from Van's. Search for "VHB" and you'll find it.

I used it for all trailing edges on my 10 and it works and is a lot less mess and waiting than the sealant.

On a somewhat related note, is the Cleveland EF60 tool the appropriate one to use when folding the skins for the trailing edge?

Thread drift question

For mechanical bond not fuel related, why would not 3M 5200, 3M firebarrier 2000 and 3M 2216 work. Easy application, vibration damping ( slightly flexible) and bonds to aluminum like crazy ?
