Replacement for old AOPA Weather along route Planning?

I am really missing the functionality of AOPA's old flight planner in regards to being able to look at weather along your route.

For shorter flights < 2 hours, not much of an issue but for 1/2 day flights, I really liked the functionality of sliding the cursor along my route and seeing forecasts conditions as time progresses and I pass over the area.

I have found a flight planner plug-in for Windy.com but not nearly as easy to use\visualize as the old AOPA "Weather Along Route" function.

Any recommendations for flight planning with weather along route functionality?

I like 'weatherspork', not free but it has some really nice flight planning tools.

Thanks Walt, I took a quick look at their webpage, I think their "Wheels Up Departure Advisor" is the functionality i am looking for. Thanks for the lead.

Steve,

I created a route between KAFW and KLAX on my iPad just now in Garmin Pilot. Split the screen with the map on the left and the 'TAF and METAR' widgets in the right. Slide the cursor left to right and you see the forecast and actual weather along your route.

If you have both an iPad and GP, maybe this solves your need.

And here is another video I just created from the iPhone (not iPad). They lay out the data a little different but you’ll see it works:

I like it because it displays cloud layers, bottoms & tops along your route and u can slide departure times to see the weather?s impact at different times. Great for long cross country flites.
