Dispensing needle for baffle sealing

After installing the baffles I wanted to seal the gaps between the baffles and the engine to ensure maximum flow through the cooling fins. I quickly realized that most of the gaps were difficult or impossible to reach with only the nozzle on the RTV tube. I looked online for an expensive solution and found some 8 gauge medical dispensing needles on Amazon. They are 6” long (I shudder to think what the medical use might be) with an ID of 1/8” or so.

I filled a veterinary 12ml leur lock syringe with RTV, attached the needle and was able to reach all of the gap areas with relative ease. Anyway, it was quick, clean and cheap. I think I paid 8 bucks for 12 needles so I view them as single use and just tossed everything when I was done with zero cleanup. Hopefully, others will find this useful. I am sure there are myriad ways to do this but this way worked well for me.

Here’s a shot of the setup:

I've used the turkey injectors for the same thing. Grind the sharp point off.
Also used them with tank sealant that's slightly thinned with MEK for other things. Like a mini calking gun. Works good.
