Alternator Blast Tube

When installing an alternator blast tube for cooling, where on the alternator do you direct the tubes air flow to?
Front, rear, side, anywhere?

This is how mine is done, hope it helps. Black RTV plugging the bottom and openings cut on the front, then safety wired. I do still need to add some RTV to the safety wire.

We removed our blast tube

Just removed our blast tube. Rain caused the regulator to get wet during flights in rain. Initially the field light would only come on in rain, but it recently failed completely during an IFR flight, in IMC, in rain. Plane Power internally regulated alternator.
