Offsetting the VS on RV6

I have fitted a new HS on my RV6 and ready to drill the holes for the VS in the HS forward spar, my question is has anyone put a 5/32 offset installing the VS the same as you do on the RV7. My plane did require right rudder in the cruise to centre the ball before I glued a 8" wedge on the LHS of the rudder to balance the ball.

The VS on the first 6 I built was offset by 1/2” and it still required a wedge to center the ball. The next two a 6A and another 6 were built straight and the wedges were about the same size? Easier for me to build it straight and use a wedge. Just one opinion. Enjoy the build.

I replaced the original tail on my RV6.
Obviously used the new 7 tail with a 8 rudder.
With the old VS I needed a wedge on the rudder.
I installed the new VS straight with 8 rudder and .......no need for a wedge.
It surprised me.....but I like it.
10 knots faster too...:)

There is an old thread dated 2-16-2012 that has an extensive discussion of this issue. (Can someone please tell me how to include a link to a thread or individual post?)

Perhaps you can find it by the date, it is in the general section.

Click on the number of the post that you want to copy.

Copy the address and post it here like this.... https://vansairforce.net/community/showpost.php?p=1476732&postcount=2

The =2 is the post number that you see in the right hand corner of the post.

Or, if you want to expose the entire thread, just copy the address at the top of the first page like this....https://vansairforce.net/community/showthread.php?t=188353 and post it here.
