Tire tubes

I just got a pair of tires and tubes (from Vans) for my 6A main gear. The originals are 15 years old so I thought it would be time to replace them.

The new tubes come with an internal nut/washer the looks like it would center and straighten the stem and prevent it from squishing through the hole in the rim where the rim parts split.

Is this the correct intent and usage?
Did you use them?
Any pictures?

Thanks

Thats how I installed mine. The ridge on the nut seats in the wheel stem hole. Helps keep the stem aligned and prevent tube rotation.

Oddly enough, as you've probably found, there's lack of instruction available online for installation.

Here's what I did...
As soon as I pressurized it after bolting it together, I heard a little click and looked with an inspection mirror to see it centered in the split rim hole.
