Rv3b

Van's First Flight meter says 302 RV-3's have flown of all types. The -3B was introduced in 1998(?), so there's been 22 years of people building -3Bs.

If it was more than 50 I'd be surprised?

I guess some 3/3A's have been retrofitted with the 3B wing too.

My 3B started as a 3A but got signed up for the factory complete built wing trade up program. The factory finished wings are simply beautiful inside and out. Since the bird was already licensed and flying with an AWC Vans was able to sell complete wings for flying birds as part of that program. I don't think they extended that program after the cutt-off date for upgrading the wings. It was an incentive program to get the 3's back in the air safely. Not that the original wings were anything other than good and safe after the reinforcement service bulletins installed. It was just a quick and easy way to get a quality 3B starting with a 3 or 3A airframe. Win for Vans. Win for RV-3 owners.
