Wing Spar Length

Hi,

Just ordered the wing kit and planning how I will manage the space in the shop. My workbench is 80? x 34? and I was thinking I needed to build an extension to the top or a stand etc to support the spars. The crate is 141? but I can?t imagine the spars being this long.

Can anyone tell me the length of the spars or recommend how long the bench should be?

Do I even need a bench extension? Or would a simple saw horse to the same height as the bench be ok to support the spars past the 80? mark?

Thank you!

The spars are pretty much the full length of the crate. I used two of the EAA workbenches and used them to support the spar ends. Most of the spar weight is on one end (inboard). You could also simply support the center of gravity over your table and clamp it down while you work on the other side. Careful not to introduce twist though. Have fun, lots of countersinking on the spars.
