Night Legal

We are looking at purchasing a 6 that has no lights on the tail. We were just wondering about it being legal for night VFR flight. I did come across something mentioning if the wing tip lights are on the end and not under a fairing they can contain a rear facing white light that would meet the requirement. Anybody have any information on that. Thank you.

The white light can be on the tips - just needs to meet the basic requirements.

Yep, white can be on tips or tail.

Same with strobes. Just need 360 degrees.
