N196 1st Condition Inspection

bkervaski

Hellloooooooo!
Testing
Well, that was uneventful.

Did the first condition inspection, only 1 loose bolt (aileron autopilot servo bracket). No other squawks. Nice.

Vic: All my jam nuts were still tight ;)

Wow that year went quick. Any unusual / interesting wear items? I'm close to finishing phase 1 and did an oil change today - FWF looked good when I pulled the canopy. Found one loose cable tie.

The only thing that I found was the tail top fairing rubbed a wear mark into the paint in the front towards the top. Considered trying to fix it but I would probably make it worse.

There's some debris and grime in the tail cone where I had an oil leak from a connector on the oil cooler about 75 hours in. It coated the bottom of the airplane, some of it made its way in to the tail cone somehow. I'll need to crawl back in there at some point and clean it up.

Sending some oil off to Blackstone for analysis.

That's really it! Better than expected.
